How to program ATA garage opener remotes – Quick guide.

ATA GDO 2 Remote control programming. 

The process for programming remote controls is the same for all GDO 2 series openers.

How to program a remote control for the ATA GDO2 garage door opener. 

  1. Locate the “code” button on the back of the opener. 
  2. Press and hold the code button continually. 
  3. Press the selected transmitter button for 2 seconds, release for 1 second then press and release again. 
  4. Release the “code” button on the back of the opener.
    Your remote control handset should now be ready to work. 

TXA handset is compatible with the GDO-2, GDO-2v2.
TX27 handset is compatible with the GDO-2 v4
PTX4 handset is compatible with the GDO-2 v5, GDO-2 v6, GDO-2 v7 openers

ATA GDO 4 Remote control programming.

How to program a remote control for the ATA GDO4 garage door opener. 

  1. Remove the light cover by pressing in on both sides of the cover and pulling down. 
  2. Locate the “door code” button on the internal control panel. 
  3. Press and hold the door code button continually. 
  4. Press the selected transmitter button for 2 seconds, release for 1 second then press and release again. 
  5. Release the “door code” button on the back of the opener. 

Your remote control handset should now be ready to work.
TXA handset is compatible with the GDO-4, GDO-4v2.
PTX4 Is compatible with GDO-4v3, GDO-4v4, GDO-4v5, GDO-4v6.

ATA GDO 6 Remote control programming.

How to program a remote control for the ATA GDO 6 garage door opener. 

  1. Remove the plastic shield covering the control panel by levering it up from the bottom edge. 
  2. Locate the “door code” button on the control panel. 
  3. Press and hold the door code button continually throughout the next step. 
  4. Press the selected transmitter button for 2 seconds, release for 1 second then press and release again. 
  5. Release the “door code” button on the opener. 

Your remote control handset should now be ready to work.
PTX4 is compatible with GDO-6v1, GDO-6v2. 
GDO-6v4 and GDO-6v3 use Tricode or PTX5 handsets.

  1. Remove the plastic shield covering the control panel by levering it up from the bottom edge. 
  2. Locate the “door code” button on the back of the opener. 
  3. Press and hold the door code button continually.

  5. Release the “door code” button on the back of the opener.

How to program a remote control for the ATA GDO 8 garage door opener. 

  1. On the underside of the opener locate the “door code” button. 
  2. Press and hold the door code button continually. 
  3. Press the selected transmitter button for 2 seconds, release for 1 second then press and release again. 
  4. Release the “door code” button on the underside of the opener. 

Your remote control handset should now be ready to work.

  1. Remove the plastic shield covering the control panel by levering it up from the bottom edge.

  1. Remove the plastic shield covering the control panel by levering it up from the bottom edge. 
  2. Locate the “door code” button on the back of the opener. 
  3. Press and hold the door code button continually. 
  4. Press the selected transmitter button for 2 seconds, release for 1 second then press and release again. 
  5. Release the “door code” button on the back of the opener. 

Your remote control handset should now be ready to work. 

The GDO 11 uses the PTX-5 v2 remote control handset. 

ATA ATS 2 Tempo Remote control programming.

How to program a remote to the ATA 2 Tempo garage door opener. 

  1. Locate the control panel on the back of the opener. 
  2. Press and pulse the MODE button until the Transmit LED is illuminated. (Far Left) 
  3. Hold the down arrow button continually for the rest of the process. 
  4. Press and release the remote button that you want to program. 
  5. Press and release the same remote button again. 
  6. Release the down button on the back of the opener. 

ATA ATS 3 Syncro Remote control programming.

How to program a remote to the ATA 3 Syncro garage door opener. 

  1. Locate the control panel on the back of the opener. 
  2. Press and pulse the MODE button until the Transmit LED is illuminated. (Far Left) 
  3. Hold the down arrow button continually for the rest of the process. 
  4. Press and release the remote button that you want to program. 
  5. Press and release the same remote button again. 
  6. Release the down button on the back of the opener. 

ATA Cobra remote control programming.

How to program a remote control for the ATA Cobra garage door opener. 

  1. Remove the light cover from the front of the opener. 
  2. Press the learn button until “H” is showing on the digital display. 
  3. Press and release the desired button on the handheld transmitter once. 
  4. A decimal point on the display will flash then stay on. 
  5. Press and release the handset button a second time. 

The digital display will show the memory slot used by the handset for upto 10 seconds. Simply press your remote control to test the door when you are ready. 

The Cobra is compatible with the PTX-5 remote handset.
